In 2024 I began a new project: a series of oil paintings depicting the 12 signs of the western zodiac on panels engraved with corresponding symbols.
My main goal in mind with this project was to improve my oil painting and it’s been a nice bonus exploring the themes of one of my favorite subjects at the same time.
Beginning with Aries, and continuing in order…

About
Sarah Spencer is an independent artist based in Washington State, creating acrylic and oil paintings. Sarah has sustained a life-long passion for creating and particularly for painting. She began with acrylics in high school, explored watercolors and gouache through her 20s, and finally tried oil painting in 2020, which has become her favorite medium.
When not drawing or painting she can be found playing video games, rummaging through secondhand stores, or working through a never-ending to-watch list of movies.
Passionately anti-generative AI.

Why 'Harvest by Moonlight'?
'Harvest by Moonlight' is the result of a brainstorming session where I played with piecing together different words that I wanted my artwork to relate to. Sarah Spencer is a fairly common name and I wanted something that I could use across the internet that was more unique for securing URLs, usernames, and the like. It's also a nod to the late, late nights that I used to spend as a night owl, painting (I paint during daylight hours now).
